Adult Music Lessons
You are not too old to start playing music. It doesn't matter if you are 24, 42, or 124 years old. Learning music will benefit your brain, body, and your ego. Beyond those benefits, making music is super fun.
Learning music improves way more than just your musical skill.
One of the things we teach is how to practice and the fastest way to learn how to achieve facility on your instrument. We teach people to achieve things in music that they never thought they could. When this happens, it is one of the most fun and exciting feelings. It is literally the act of watching yourself grow and improve. Learning music isn't always easy, but these exciting breakthroughs make it more than worth it. Getting good at an instrument also will show you that you can achieve whatever you put your mind to and your self confidence will grow. Many of our students get better jobs, move into nicer places, even start their own business after starting singing, piano or another type of lessons.
Playing music is one of the healthiest ways to de-stress.
Life is stressful, if you have found a way to completely remove stress from your life, please contact us with how you did it! We have found that when playing music, our students get into what is called a flow state. When you are in a flow state you are concentrating completely on the task at hand (music) and your brain doesn't even have the bandwidth to think about stressful things during that time. Then, after the music is over, the body is more relaxed. The reason is, the light physical activity of playing music releases endorphins in the brain which lower stress levels, so when you are finished playing you feel happier and less anxious. Finally an activity that is fun and healthy at the same time.

Become a musician, join the music community!
We won't tell you that the music industry is always the friendliest place in the world. Just like any other industry there are good people and bad people that work within it. However, people who are outside of the music industry seem to look at musicians and industry folk with a reverence and mystique. We will be the first ones to tell you that we don't actually think that musicians are cooler than anybody else. Playing the drums is literally the act of hitting wooden cylinders with sticks. However, once you start playing out, once you post your first picture from behind the kit. After you start inviting your friends to your shows, people around you will start getting curious about you and your band. Its always fun to be able to invite friends and family to a show and hang out with them at the venue before and after your performance.

Performance.
We have recitals at least two times a year. Recitals give our students an outlet to perform. Performance is a skill of our own and we make sure to help our students prepare for the stage musically, mentally and from an entertainment standpoint as well.
During covid we have continued to offer recitals, however, we have now begun doing them on Zoom. They are perhaps even more fun than recitals were before.
Songs.
We will help you learn the songs that you want to learn as well as suggest songs that would help take you playing to the next level. We want our students to be well rounded musicians who play full songs and know how to play with other musicians if the opportunity arises. After you learn a song we would be happy to help you get footage of your song so you can post on social media and build your artist portfolio.
Proper Technique.
We will teach you the correct way to hold your instrument, proper posture, and instrument specific technique.
Fluidity and Fluency Exercises.
Scales, chords, melodies, modes, etudes, diction, you name it we teach it. And we know how to make learning these exercises fun.
Improvisation.
Improvising is one of the most fun things musicians do. We improvise every day when we have conversations, problem solve, and even when we drive our cars. It only makes sense that improvisation should be part of a musical curriculum.
Chops.
Chops are like a fill, Imbut more intense. We will teach you some chops and then how to expand and modify your chops so that they sound super different from what you start with. That will help you get more mileage out of each chop.
Genre Studies.
We will discuss and then practice how to play different genres of music with authenticity and proper style. We will also discuss the top musicians of whatever instrument is being learned and discuss their best practices, style, and what we can learn from them.
Industry Coaching.
The music industry can be a confusing place. We can help you achieve your goals whether it is to win a musical award, ace an audition, write songs, or start your own project.
